Security Officer Training
Upon Completion Of This Program, Students Will Be Able To:
- Recognize the career opportunities that exist for security officers & guards
- Learn how to stay alive
- Explain the laws, Constitutional amendments, U.S. Supreme Court decisions and court-related issues for private security staff
- Describe the elements of effective communication and its role in private security , i.e., the various methods of reporting investigative findings to clients
- Recognize the constitutional rights of individuals of interest
- Recognize the various legal constraints placed on a security guard making a detention
- Understand how security guards can mess up a legal case without the proper training and understanding of evidence, right of the accused, and non state-enforcement actions.
- Explain how observations, descriptions and surveillance are used in investigations
- Develop systematic methods for applying concepts that make an investigation successful
- Name equipment used by private security staff
- Recognize the proper methods for obtaining, recording, preserving and analyzing evidence
- Explore use of force continuum
- Learn Handcuffing techniques, when to detain, when to pursue, and when to observe and report direction of flight.
- Learn OC Techniques, indications and contraindications
- Learn Baton techniques, indications, and contra=indications
- Learn about Conducted Electrical Devices (Taser weapons)
